How is the course assessed?
The course consists of 3 units:
1)Exploring Performing Arts 30%
2) Developing skills and technique 30%
3) Performing to a brief 40%

The Performing Arts Industry
Tech- lighting, music editing, costume, front of house
Who would this course suit? What skills do you need ?
Someone that who can create and perform solo and in a group. You need to be able to focus in both practical and theory. Somebody that has an interest in dance, Drama and other areas of the Arts Industry.
What trips/ activities could you be involved in?
Trips to the theatre MC&MA Contemporary Dance Group MC&MA Drama club Opportunity to visit New York Opportunity to be in Shakespeare for Schools The school musical and shows.
What college courses/job opportunities would this help you follow in the future?
A-Level Dance & Drama, A Level theatre/performance studies, Level 3 Performing Arts, Private dance and Drama school- Rambert, The Hammond, Bird College, Laine Theatre.
Professional dancer, actor, choreographer, director, teacher, freelance artist, arts critic, arts journalist, movement therapist.
How will this course help you to get a job?
As well as learning skills the BTEC also offers the opportunity to build your confidence, show your commitment by attending rehearsals and practising, becoming a team worker and having a creative approach to situations.
