Academy Performance

  • Our best ever GCSE results 2016!
We are thrilled to announce that the Class of 2016 have achieved the best GCSE results in the history of the academy, which continue to demonstrate our substantial improvements.  We achieved above floor standards in the key measures with another increase in the percentage of A*-C in English and Maths, despite the downward trend nationally.  The Academy is the most improved school in the city since 2014.

There were some outstanding subject achievements which placed outcomes for many above the national benchmarks.  In Maths and English, almost a fifth of grades were A/A* with A*-C outcomes in Maths and progress in English above national averages. There were a vast number of outstanding individual achievements. Jasmin Caine, former pupil of Charlestown Primary School and Quefa Carter, former pupil of Lily Lane Primary achieved an outstanding 16 A*/A between them!

Rebecca Smith, Principal of the Academy, said ‘We are delighted with this year’s results which truly reflect the hard work and dedication of both the staff and the students. We wish our Class of 2016 every success in the future.”
